VOCAL — Voices of Change Animal League — is a nonprofit organization in Ocala, Florida, dedicated to reducing pet homelessness and keeping animals with the families who love them. Founded in 2015, VOCAL was created to address the root causes of pet overpopulation by providing affordable veterinary care, education, and community resources. Its mission goes beyond rescue — the organization focuses on prevention, support, and long-term solutions to keep pets safe and out of shelters.

At the heart of VOCAL’s work is its Community Clinic & Resource Center, where pet owners can access low-cost spay and neuter services, vaccinations, wellness exams, diagnostics, and even specialty surgeries. For families facing financial hardship, VOCAL’s Fix the Future Fund provides assistance to cover vital veterinary procedures, ensuring pets can stay healthy and remain in their homes.

VOCAL also supports the community through programs like Project FEED, a pet food bank that helps owners struggling to afford pet food and supplies. Its Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiative helps control the population of free-roaming cats humanely by providing sterilization and vaccines, then returning them to their habitats. In addition, VOCAL runs adoption and foster programs to find loving homes for dogs and cats, working with a network of foster families and hosting regular adoption events.
